Jail

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and Jail was remodeled from a 232 bed facility and offices to a 776 bed jail and offices in 1994. At present time the average population is about 842 inmates. The main number for the Jail is:

Programs

The Fort Bend County Jail provides numerous programs for inmates. These are designed to assist the inmate when he/she is released. These programs include AA, Drug Rehabilitation, Living Skills, GED, and Religious activities.

Visitation 

 

Visitation hours for all inmates will be from 8:00 A.M. through 6:30 P.M. daily.

 

The last visit will start at 6:30 pm and conclude at 7:00 pm.

Inmates are not available for visits during meal times:

10:30 to 11:30 and 3:30 to 4:30

 

Video Visitation will be offered seven days a week.

 

 

VISITATION RULES:

  • Any child sixteen (16) or under shall be accompanied by an adult.
  • Juvenile visitors sixteen (16) and older will provide a valid state drivers license or ID bearing a photo.
  • All adult visitors will provide a state license or ID bearing a photo.
  • Each inmate not on restriction will be allowed two (2) visits per calendar week starting on Mondays.
  • Visits will be thirty (30) minutes in length.
  • Use of cell phones and cameras is prohibited during a visit. 

  

 VISITATION PROHIBITED ITEMS:

To gain access into the Fort Bend County Video Visitation room you will not be permitted to carry or wear the following:

  • Food, drinks or gum
  • Guns, knives or any other type of weapons
  • Inappropriate clothing such as tank tops, tube tops, strapless attire, “short” skirts or “short” shorts

 

NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE
Failure to follow the rules and regulations, or attempts to bring a prohibited item into the facility, may result in loss of visitation.

 Please be courteous and conscious of other visitors to minimize any problems.


 

 Commissary

An inmate may receive funds to be placed on their commissary account. NO CASH will be accepted. A money order should be made out to: Inmate Trust Fund, include the inmate’s name and if possible their jail identification number. The funds will be accepted at the bonding window located in the main lobby or mailed to 1410 Ransom Rd. Richmond, TX. 77469.
