Be careful what information you give out over the telephone. Identity thieves have called and threatened persons for failing to report to jury service in Harris County. Thieves asked for confidential information and claimed to be with the Harris County District Clerk's Office. Identity thieves have also tried this scam in Arizona and Washington State.
The staff of the Fort Bend County District Clerk's office will NEVER call you and ask for your Social Security number, credit card numbers or other sensitive information. DO NOT give out such information to anyone who calls you, that claims to be with the District Clerk's office.
If you have any doubts about a caller, who claims to be from the Fort Bend County District Clerk's office, please verify their identity before giving out information.
