Fort Bend Geographic Information System (GIS), a facet of the Fort Bend Engineering Division, has a mission to aid in the dissemination of accurate geographical data to internal county departments, elected officials, residents and the private sector. One way by which we accomplish this mission is to place much of our GIS information on the web through the interactive mapping software services which you may freely use below. Within these mapping services, you may freely view much of our data we utilize within the GIS to assist your endeavors regarding Fort Bend County. The information about Fort Bend, placed upon these mapping services, are frequently updated, so feel free to book mark this page and return often. Currently Fort Bend County is upgrading the mapping services to a new GIS platform. New map services will be added to this page in the coming weeks.

Fort Bend GIS strives to keep all mapping layers as current and as accurate as possible. Although many layers are built from surveyed meets and bounds descriptions, some are not surveyed but have been built using aerial photography. These maps should not be used or presented as a certified record (but as guides or as drafts). When desiring the most accurate information, please contact the County Clerk's office, or your city public works or engineering department.

Floodplain Map Preliminary Release
An intensive five-year mapping project guided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Fort Bend County has reached an important milestone. Updated preliminary flood insurance rate maps have now been provided to all Fort Bend County residents.
